Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery It is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering disciplines.
The engineering field requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided design, and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, weapons, and others.
Till the population exist, it would need products and for every product it requires a machine to produce in large scale and these machines are brain child of mechanical engineers who always, innovate, how to invent a machine, which can complete job of ten men power with very less alternatives with precision and job sharpness. And that is need of mechanical engineering branch of study for creative young minds.

Dave Harsh got 1st Rank in Rang Amaizi-2018 – A unique wall painting competition in National service scheme, L.D. Engg. College, Ahmedabad.
Theoretical knowledge is incomplete without practical application. Carrying this ideology the students of SALITER (Mechanical & Automobile Engg.) participated in the BAJA- Mega ATV (All-terrain vehicle) championship 2018. It is a national level racing championship, organized by Auto sports India. With the guidance of Prof. Jigesh Shah and other faculty members the team has secured the 1st Position in Gujarat and 3rd position in India under the Drag Race category.
