Fluid Mechanics Lab
The Fluid Mechanics Laboratory of Civil Engineering branch provides practical experience in fluid properties, flow measurements, and hydraulic machines. Students perform experiments on Bernoulli’s theorem, flow through pipes, and orifices, enhancing their understanding of fluid behavior essential for hydraulic structure and water resource design.
The laboratory is equipped with the following experimental set-ups:
Bernoulli’s Apparatus.
Venturimeter & Orifice Meter Apparatus
Notch Apparatus
Reynolds Apparatus
Rotameter Apparatus
Geotechnical Engineering Lab
A Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory is a facility within civil engineering departments dedicated to studying the properties and behavior of soils and rocks. It helps engineers understand how these materials behave under different conditions, which is crucial for designing stable foundations, earthworks, and other structures.
The laboratory is equipped with the following experimental set-ups:
Liquid limit device
Cone penetrometer
Shrinkage limit test
Pycnometer
Plastic Limit set
Direct shear apparatus
Mechanics of Solid Lab
The Mechanics of Solids Laboratory is demonstrating the basic principles in the area of strength and mechanics of materials and structural analysis to the undergraduate students through a series of experiments. Students can learn a variety of engineering and structural materials and their mechanical and engineering properties, materials stress-strain behavior and failure patterns, types of materials based on characterization and evaluation of the experimental results.
The laboratory is equipped with the following experimental set-ups:
Universal Testing Machine
Torsion Testing Machine
Rockwell & Brinell Hardness Tester
Impact Testing Machine
Computer Lab
The Computer Lab provides a convenient approach for civil engineering planning, drawing and drafting the report. Students of UG and PG courses can get professional training on 2D & 3D drafting of civil engineering drawings with the help of AutoCAD. The students will also learn design and drafting, necessary for the civil-engineering discipline.
