Department of Civil Engineering, SALITER had conducted the water treatment plant visit with a capacity of 850 million litres per day (MLD) is being built at the Kotarpur water treatment plant under Amrit-2.0 and SWAP-3 by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). Kotarpur water treatment plant have been installed for treatment of 850 MLD of raw water which fulfill almost 75 to 80 percent water demand in Ahmedabad. Raw Water Sources from Narmada Main Canal (primarily via gravity) and the Sabarmati River via intake wells. Distribution Supplies the North, East, Central, South, and West Zones of Ahmedabad. Energy Efficiency: The plant leverages gravity for major water transport, significantly reducing operational electricity costs. Automation: Operations are monitored and controlled via advanced SCADA-based systems. Quality Control: Students observed laboratory testing for pH, turbidity (typically kept below 1 NTU), and residual chlorine to ensure water meets WHO and Indian standards. BE Civil 6th semester students of strength 24 nos. were participated and coordinated by Prof. Mittal Shah.
